Magnifique établissement, très bien tenu, impeccable, dans un écrin de verdure, à proximité des plus beaux spots de snorkelling de l'île. Absolument parfait.

Le calme la propreté et le couchage est top. Tres bien place et pas loin du village et de la plage. Le personnel est tres sympa.

This is a well set up, self catering guest house accommodation. It is an ideal base for sightseeing in this area of Dominica - or as I was using it, as a base for diving/kayaking activities down at the sea front. My room was clean and comfortable and the shower worked well. The window screens were intact (a must for someone who attracts mosquitoes) and the windows themselves could be fully closed off if required. I was pleased not to have air conditioning and preferred the fan provided. The kitchen is also clean, a big cooking range with pans and utensils, crockery and storage. The lounge/dining area is great for communal eating and hammocks on the verandah's for solitary chilling. Take note of the directions provided to get to the property or Google Maps will send you off in entirely the wrong direction. When Google tells you to turn right look for prudently provisioned sign on the roadside, that says Soufriere Guest House is actually straight on, and follow that instead!

The hot water is only solar heated so on the occasional overcast day, it could do with a bit of a boost.

They got us into the room early (which was a very nice accommodation for our schedule). 5. Quick and thorough communication with staff on the Booking.com platform and/or WhatsApp.

1. Probably the worst thing about the property is the noise. You can hear people pretty clearly from the room next door. But worse, they have sitting areas outside the rooms and when your neighbors are out there you can hear every single word they say like they were right next to you. We wanted to sleep in after being at Carnival festivities late, and were woken up early by the neighbors. So we tried to make up for it by taking an afternoon nap, but then they were doing construction upstairs (which was even louder than the neighbors). 2. The property is sort of run-down. The rooms have very old furnishings and are not particularly clean. 3. While the setting is nice in one way, you’re not near the beach or even near the village, which actually makes the location just so-so. 4. While we truly appreciated the early check-in, the check-out time was 10:30am which seemed early to us. We asked for a late check-out at Noon and they didn’t even offer to meet us halfway and required us to vacate at 10:30am. 5. It seems they’re caught somewhere between a hotel and a hostel. The atmosphere and the overall quality of the rooms are like a hostel but the pricing is closer to a hotel level. (For example, we were very surprised not to have soap or shampoo in the room which cost US $100 per night. Even with a normal premium added to the pricing because if was during Carnival, this is very expensive according to what we’ve paid in other places in Dominica and the Caribbean, including during previous Carnivals.)
