GBWe really enjoyed our stay at Lumley’s Place, a rustic Guesthouse in Johannesdal South Africa. Located in a peaceful, rural non urban community, surrounded by the beauty of mountains and nature. A family run business hosted by Benita and family including Joy, Basil, Mama and other team members. Our hosts were friendly, attentive and responsive to our needs and do their best to ensure you enjoy your time with them. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable which met all our needs. The breakfasts were great and well presented every morning. We were greeted with wonderful fruit platters, self service pastries & continental breakfast choices plus a full English breakfast was also offered which set us up for the day. Our hosts helped facilitate all our transport needs during our stay and encouraged us to find out more about the wider communities. Benita even coordinated meetings with Sandra at Pniel church and with Samantha the curator at Pniel museum who shared the knowledge of their people, their history, their lives on the land and surrounding areas. Which was very informative. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lumley’s Place Guesthouse, it felt like a ‘home away from home’. If I ever have another opportunity to be in that part of the world I won’t hesitate to pay another visit.

Pictures on the site are misleading, the poor area the place is situated in with dilapidated and unpainted buildings , the place itself build look and finishes wont pass a 2 star rating and don't deserve 130 Euro per night fee , fans in next room very noisy cant sleep properly .
