The room was a lot larger than I expected, especially considering how small Japan hotel rooms are. Also, I really enjoyed the location because it was a short walk to Kyoto station and there was a lovely grocery store nearby as well as a small mall.

We loved the responsive and friendly staff, the location (we love being close to a supermarket!), access to public transport, the comfortable beds (two mats for those on the floor) and pillows, and just the little extras like an umbrella stand at the door. Price point was excellent too, and we would definitely stay again.

The only thing I didn’t like is the windows are all opaque and most don’t open fully so it can feel a bit enclosed.
