Apartments on Upton

Comfortable stay, lots of space, smart tv and comfortable couches for spending time in the apartment, good location for walking to downtown, reserved parking space

Keys were collected from a lodge a few minutes drive away - would have been nice if keys could have been in a lockbox at the property itself.

Its location was excellent- a mere walking distance to the beautiful lake. The whole apartment was quite spacious with almost everything we needed to make our stay there easy and enjoyable. Parking at the door made loading and unloading our car so much easier.

A very spacious modern property in a quiet location in Wanaka. Our apartment was on the ground floor with another one above us. We did not notice noise from above, but could have been lucky. The airy, open-plan kitchen/dining/living area is enormous with access to a private outdoor dining/seating area (with a BBQ). The kitchen is well stocked with crockery, pans etc and has a dishwasher. The amount of floor to ceiling glass means this open-plan room does get very hot on a sunny day but there are blinds to counteract this and good AC. The bedrooms are decent, although needing a twin instead of a double made the second bedroom feel crowded. Plenty of wardrobe space in both rooms though. The modern bathroom (shower & loo) was clean and spacious with plenty of towels. The utilities (washer, drier, airer) were useful and easy to operate. It's a 10 minute walk to Wanaka lakefront, 15 minutes to the main eateries and 20m (or a short drive) to collect/drop-off the keys at central reception.

Parking is not clearly allocated - you just use an available space between/next to several other apartments. Unfortunately for us there was some noisy building work happening on the next door property which meant that sitting outside was not pleasant.

I wasn't aware that the reception desk was one km from the accommodation. I was walking, therefore, this was a surprise to me.

I thought we were on the water side. No, unfortunately. The dryer door wouldn’t open after 15 minutes. Had to wait over an hour and the clothes were still wet. Didn’t put them back in, didn’t want to take a chance.
