Apartments on Upton

The apartment was available for us on time (a little earlier actually) and was very clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was equipped with the essentials (a pair of scissors would be a handy addition to the draw though) and having the laundry facilities were great for us. Parking off street for one vehicle was good to have and proximity to the main hub of Wanaka was good.

The statue outside of the big window in the lounge area! It gave me a little startle each time I pulled the curtains!

Great location close to downtown Wanaka and near lake too. Quiet and clean apartment with a nice outdoor deck.

The apartment had limited kitchen items like only two forks, one wineglass, no big pots for cooking.

We had an accessibility unit at the very front of the complex. Neither the pictures nor the unit description indicated that this might be an option. The unit had very large windows that people could look into from the front patio/road; it was not private, as indicated in the description. The bathroom modification (e.g., vanity) was very small, modified for a wheelchair, so there was not sufficient space for family bathroom products or sponge bags on the vanity, and there were no drawers or hooks to store them. I understand these units need to be available, and if we had known, we might have made a different accommodation choice at this price for a family. Thanks

The apartment is fully equipped. A large kitchen with an oven was fantastic! The washer and dryer were also very useful. The air conditioning and Wi-Fi worked well. There are also enough sockets, including next to the bed. Parking is available at the complex, and the lake is within walking distance.

The bathroom in apartment 1 has two windows. The lower one is covered, the upper one isn't. This is very uncomfortable, especially if you're tall. Moreover, with the lights on, it feels like a fishbowl in the evening. The bathroom is visible from the adjacent building and from the street, which is especially uncomfortable at night. A bathroom should simply offer good privacy. Why not have a roller blind for this window, like the one in the rest of the apartment? Then the apartment would be perfect.
