Kühle Nordlage des Zimmers mit Balkon. Reichhaltiges Frühstück.

An zwei von sieben Tagen nur alte Brötchen zum Frühstück (immerhin frisch aufgebacken). An zwei von sieben Tagen keine Zimmerreinigung. An zwei weiteren Tagen keine Mülleimerleerung. Die auf dem Zimmer stehende Kaffeepad-Maschine enthielt noch altes Wasser.

"We wanted a comfortable hotel in the heart of Hauenstein and this hotel delivered; albeit at a price"

The hotel is in an ideal location (easy walk to the German Shoe Museum), but Hauenstein isn't exactly big. If you're there for hiking, it's well situated for that as well. It was a comfortable hotel with a good restaurant and excellent breakfast. They even have an EV charging station (if that's a need). I think it's over priced, especially for mid-November, but many of the hotels in this "spa" town seem to be. It was the most expensive hotel room we had in our 24 day vacation, including cities such as Heidelberg, Frankfurt, and Munich.

18 steps up to the 2nd floor (1st floor in German vernacular) with luggage--not elevator.

Good location. Very comfortable bedroom. Lovely and extensive breakfast Very friendly staff. Quirky artefacts.

Bar area was very small. No TV area in communal area.

"Exceptional!"

We booked at the last minute and they were more than happy to accommodate us and fit us in for a delicious evening meal as well. Everyone was extremely welcoming and what we especially noticed was the attention to detail: thread and needles in the wardrobe; a rucksack and umbrella in the room; bins just where you need them. The village is peaceful and set in stunning countryside. We had local speciality main courses for dinner and would definitely go back again if only the restaurant were local to us. The breakfast selection was excellent.

Nothing to say here.
