"Fab staff, good location."

8.0

Great location for where we needed to be. Attached to lovely pub with good food. The staff were all brilliant, friendly and helpful.

Very low ceilings in the bedroom. Spiral staircase too narrow to get suitcase up to bedroom.

Shower, heating in the room, very cozy atmosphere & pleasant staff. Both the dinner and early breakfast at Elite Pub were very delicious.

Good pub-restaurant, excellent food, helpful staff, pretty location, clean and new.

Two-storey bedroom, with tight circular staircase connecting bed to the bathroom. Cramped (6' x 6') lower level has a loveseat and tv, but feels cell-like, with no stool or bench to accommodate another person, hold a glass, or use for relaxing. (I suppose you're supposed to do all that in the pub.) Bathroom bright and new, but shower controls are reversed, which led to a cold surprise soaking. Heater was off, with no instructions provided, so room and bathroom were cold until staff were called to help. Coffee machine in room did not work.

"Great setting for thin, mobile shorter people"

3.0

Nice setting, good breakfast.

19” wide polished timber slippy spiral Staircase to roof bedroom was too narrow and bordering on dangerous for a 6’3” 18 stone 56 year old drunk man when the head height in the roof apex is 5’7”, had to crawl into bed

"Smart place, but not a very comfortable stay."

6.0

Very spacious bathroom and good shower.

It's really not clear enough in the description that the bed is on a different floor to the bathroom, which given the narrow, polished wood spiral staircase between the two is important to know. Yes it's mentioned that the bedroom is on a different floor to the living area, but not clear enough about the bathroom. I don't have mobility issues but I found the staircase nerve-wracking and I couldn't get my small suitcase up there. The second big problem for me was the duvet. I have actually never seen such a thin duvet. I had a look to see what the Tog rating was, couldn't find it, but it had poppers in the corners, and was clearly just one half of a pair of duvets. Someone must have forgotten to attach the winter part!! I was so cold that I had to double the duvet over in order to get to sleep. A couple of thin throws did not help much. This needs to be so much cosier! A complimentary packet of biscuits with the tea and coffee (good selection) wouldn't have gone amiss either. These two aspects gave the impression of penny-pinching.
