The Market House

Lovely spacious room. Great location in town. No noise from pub, or other rooms. Tea coffee milk and water always available. Lovely cleaning staff and really helpful bar staff. The bed, duvet and pillows and towels were so cosy. Excellent shower.

The bathroom sink was small, the shelf above made it awkward to use.

Opportunity to leave luggage/ Helpful and friendly staff. Plenty of coffee capsules, bottled water too. Excellent shower and bathroom

There were ample light sources in the room but not sufficiently strong at the desk or the bedside. You might usefully address this I think.

I’ve stayed at Market House on several occasions. Nice rooms, easy check in process, I like it. There are some rooms though which suffer from noise - specifically the lower floor rooms facing the road. I had stayed in room 3 twice before, and therefore requested a room only the rear of the property, and preferably on a high floor. Room 3 is above a busy bus stop, and despite the secondary glazing you can hear the traffic, especially in the bathroom. The main issue with the room though, is a metal gate used to access an adjoining building, which is used 24 hours and bangs and vibrates through the room when closed. The first bang this morning was at 6am and that was the end of my sleep. I was really disappointed to have been allocated room 3 again, despite the request, and could not change rooms as the hotel was full. I won’t stay here again unless a guarantee can be made on room allocation. In summary, nice, basic but cool hotel. Avoid the lower floor, road facing rooms. Based upon
