Days Inn by Wyndham Vega TX

Rooms were cheap but smelled musty. Air conditioner doesn’t work well nor does fridge. Curtains were drained. You get what u pay for. OK to spend one night here but would not spend 2.

Limited activities and dining near by.

Little hot water in shower & toilet ran continuously. Pool had no water. Property needs renovation! Lots of traffic noise.

This is by far the worst motel I have ever stayed in. We pre book and paid while on the road. We read great reviews, great views, helpful staff. All lies, false reviews. We would have driven on. Vega is more of a road stop than a town. 3 restaurants which were all closed at 7:00. We were looking forward to dinner and a drink. The hotel had paper notices taped to the doors. Fountain hadn’t seen water since Moses. 2 cars in parking lot. Went in. Desk clerk acted like we were an inconvenience. Asked about a restaurant; Rosters. Of course closed. Walked to our room. That beautiful pool! No water and used as a storage room. Vending machine had maybe 15 snacks. I’m sure past expiration. Ice machine empty or broken. We pulled down the bedspread. The sheets were threadbare. The bottom sheet was put on sideways and not tucked in. The view: a church parking lot, empty lot, I40, and a street. Wonderful view! Plus side, there was a working tv, refrigerator and microwave. Bathroom ok. We never walked around bare footed. Back door to motel always unlocked. I’m shocked Wyndham is the owner of this. They should be ashamed. I question if I’ll ever stay in one of their hotels. This place should be torn down, remodeled or sold.

We picked this place from reviews. We had been driving all day and were looking forward to a clean bed, dinner and a drink. Obviously the reviews were all fakes. We pulled in and thought they were closed. There were paper signs taped to the doors and the fountain hadn’t been working for a long time. There were 2 cars in the parking lot. We had already booked and paid on the road, so we went ahead. Otherwise we would have driven on. The desk clerk could have cared less that we were there. Unfriendly and unhelpful. The place was run down, in terrible shape. The indoor pool was empty and being used as storage. The snack machine looked 3/4s empty and I would hate to guess how old anything in it was. Ice machine had no ice I asked about a restaurant and she mumbled Rosters was the only one open. Well it was closed, as was everything in that town or should I say wayside. We went back and ate snacks. We pulled down the bed. The bottom sheet was on sideways and not tucked in. The sheets appeared very old and threadbare. TV worked. The one complement I can give them is they had toothpaste as I had forgotten mine. Breakfast was very badly acceptab. I would guess satisfactory. But you better hurry since it was served from 7 to 9. When I saw Wyndham Hotels owned Days Inn, I was floored and my opinion of Wyndham dropped to the bottom. This motel should be closed, remodeled or sold. No reputable company should let it represent it. PS: The back door doesn’t lock.

Made reservations 30 minutes before I checked in at 4:30 am and had to check out by 10am instead of letting me stay the whole 24hrs or prorating us.
