Kinta Bali Villa

The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable. Nice place and well kept for the most part. We had the whole place to ourselves after the first few days. The red phone booth at the front made it easy to find when returning to the villa.

After a few minutes of consistent water temperature in the shower, it will start oscillating between hot and lukewarm. We did not mention it to resident keeper because it was hard getting him on the phone. We stayed 8 nights in total, but there were some earlier nights where some of the other guests were pretty loud when returning to the villa during quiet hours. We also did not know where to find toilet supplies when it ran out. Better notes and communication would help. It also took awhile to figure out how to do a three point turn to get back on the street. If there were more cars in the front area, it would have been really hard. Afterwards figuring it out it was fine. This only applies to the part of the villa for the deluxe king rooms.

Great atmosphere in the hotel itself. But the rooms were very comfy and looks great too. They had all the amenities in the room and AC. It really felt like a villa in the middle of Ipoh.

The shower drainage system in our room was a bit slow. There were also some mosquitos in the parking lot, but it’s very manageable.

We stayed 2 nights in Kinta Bali Villa. To start positive, the bed was excellent but in summary this was a totally weird experience including Harry Potter music in the central lobby and no staff present. Hotel California from The Eagles would also be appropriate music.

This must have been a wonderful oasis but now the whole place was smudgy. Even the palm trees are mostly dead. Only the key points below... The pictures and descriptions are misleading. The private terras is above the garden but behind that is a noisy 4 lane road. The front desk was unmanned (perhaps due to Chinese new year). They acted almost surprised we were there after waiting for one hour at the side of the road before the closed gates opened for the 3pm check-in and our room was still not ready. The place has constantly closed gates with remote control and the checkout instructions were: "please close the gate behind you and drop the key in the mailbox" There is Wifi but we could not find the code anywhere. We took more evidence pictures but do not want to do too much bashing. Our advice to the owner: do some deep cleaning, invest in new curtains and replace the dead plants. It could be a hidden gem but now it is just a very disappointing place for a lot of money.

We loved the place. The ambience was very nice indeed, which made us feel so at home. The decor and antiques are traditional in design. There is a cosy kitchen to have your coffee or enjoy your takeaway meals comfortably at the dining table. We would definitely return to this place.
