Way Shack Hostel

Highly recommendable.

It’s the perfect distance from the whale diving, simple convenient clean and friendly, but do know that this is a simple hostel, this one had ice cold air and the private room was perfect for me. It was just right for a single or couple, but having kids with you is a bit of a stretch.

The drainage couldn’t cope after two consecutive showers, went down after a while

8인 도미토리 들어가니 1명이 더있어서 총 2명이 사용했고 사진이랑 똑같이 아름다운 숙소였어요. 켄과 여자호스트분도 너무 친절한 미소와 태도로 반겨주셔서 기분좋은 숙소였어요. 고래상어 투어도 저렴하게 550페소로 진행하며서 처음부터 끝까지 모두 알아서 처리해주셔서 넘 편했어요.

Very close to whale sharkk

Room is on the road, Noisy all the night. There were also constructor working all the night long. Not able to sleep all night long I also ask a refound and moved second night to other place. Refound was denied

Staffs were helpful. The room colors are cute and close to whale sharl area so if u have to go the next early morning to see whale sharks its good for one night. Pancake stand next to the hostel was very good too. Theres water cooler for guests and wifi works ok

The room on 1st floor is directly by the carpark and cars dont stop the engine while awaiting ppl from whale shark area..we cab smell the engine..lots of dust in the room due to location. Luckily we were able to move to the 2nd floor after the 1st night. Sink doesnt work and amennities like closet needs repair.

The location for whale shark swimming. We did it with a help of Ken, our host. He was so nice and helpful ❤️ he also booked us tickets for fair and made sure we make it to the port to catch it in time, as the schedule is fluid.

The bathroom was questionable. It was full of mold and there was no soap. Water pressure wasn’t a problem for us but the overall look of it wasn’t so great.

We had the best stay here! This small quiet hostel is in the perfect location if you have come to Oslob to see the whale sharks. It's right opposite the entrance to the walk in tickets but also if you want to explore it's an easy 15 mins motorcycle or TukTuk ride into Oslob town. We found Oslob so charming and authentic, all the people are so welcoming and friendly. Ken who is the main host at Way Shack is brilliant. He made our 2 nights stay in Oslob so relaxing and helped us with everything. He has good English so easy to communicate with and is very professional and personable. The room is basic but clean and comfortable with a large space for luggage.

The bathroom is clean but the shower is temperamental. Had to get the temperature and the flow right but not really an issue with just a 2 night stay.

It was right across the street from whale shark assembly point , so it was very convenient for 3am wake up . The guy who works at reception was amazing. He was helping us to queue for whale shark watching at night and was very nice talking to him overall , made our stay there pleasant

Room in reality is worse than on the pictures (we had private room) , quite old and there is no territory around the hostel (looks like construction site) but in this village overall there is nothing to do around and it’s alive only in the morning when tourists come to see whale sharks . So if you staying purely for 1 night , it’s probably a good option because of its convenient location
