Hostel Candelaria

We're returning to this hostel after 13 years because we really liked it back then; we stayed here in 2013. The hostel is charming, atmospheric, and very colorful. The room isn't large, simple, with basic furnishings, a fan, no air conditioning. It is clean. We are staying here for two nights. The breakfasts are tasty and vary daily. The cooking staff is nice. The location is great, within walking distance to Zocalo and other interesting places in Valladolid.

Only two toilets and one shower with cold water. It's good the hostel is almost empty, because if it were fully booked - even though it's not large - it could be a problem. One of the receptionists is quite formal. It seems like a small thing, but it's a bit irritating. We arrive at the Candelaria Hostel at 2:45pm, but after completing the formalities, we have to wait 10 minutes till 3pm when they have check-in before they give us the keys. Then we discover we need to pay a 300 MXN deposit for the keys, but only in cash, which we don't have yet because we just landed in Mexico from Europe today. Therefore, we have to pledge our passport, which they give back once we bring the money. Wow, such formalities, and yet they have our details on booking.com.

Personnel très sympa, surtout la réceptionniste dont j’ai oublié le nom (pardon) qui finit son shift à 23h.

On dort sur un draps normal qui se retire donc du matelas facilement ce qui n’est pas tres agréable

Superbe endroit, très accueillant. Emplacement parfait, super confortable. Nous y retournerions.

Me gustó mucho la ubicación. Es muy bonito, bien decorado, tiene zonas de hanacas, para sentarse. Estab todo el hostel muy limpio. El personal muy amable

Hace calor aunque haya aire acondicionado. Se apagó los dos días a las 5am, sobretodo en las literas de arriba. Ninguna ducha funciona adecuadamente, baja presión y el agua dispara por todos los lados...

Nada.Lo único q no habia agua caliente pero con el calor q hacia tampoco pasa nada

The staff were excellent, especially Edgar and Andrea at reception. The hostel had great facilities and was perfectly clean.

Nice location, hostels staffs were really helpful and friendly.
