Riverview Inn & Suites, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast staff was friendly and attentive. The rooms were simple, but clean and roomy with updated bathrooms. The historical architectural pieces are a neat addition.

The soaps were a mix of various types and no handsoap. The property shows its age a little and smells a little old. Pool is very small. The river view is scraggly and doesn't live up to its potential, but is right across from a nice city park.

Check in was very easy and welcoming, room was really great. Good view of the river.

The location was within 15 minutes of our venue. We had a river view room, but buildings and homes were somewhat blocking our view. The bed was comfortable; the staff were very friendly and helpful. Liked the access entry key.

Unfortunately, when we went down to breakfast at 9:15 a.m., the food was depleted except for five pancakes and some sausages. There was no fruit, no syrup for the pancakes, no eggs, no potatoes. No hot water for the oatmeal. There was a sports team staying in the hotel and the one staff member handling the breakfast area could not keep up with food supply or getting the tables cleaned. The bathroom outlet did not work. I called the front desk, and they put in a work order.
