Best Western Shallotte / Ocean Isle Beach Hotel

Breakfast was great.

The coffee is too watery, and doesn't taste good.

I have never had an interaction at a hotel in my life like this. My family and I checked in at 4:30pm, dropped off our stuff and left for a while. While we were gone the hotel called saying they'd double booked our room and THEY HAD REMOVED OUR STUFF FROM OUR ROOM AND HAD IT AT THE FRONT DESK. We were very puzzled what had happened and needless to say very irritated that our personal items had been handled by someone other than us without our permission. The front desk clerk only offered $30 off of our almost $300/night room. I sent Vee Patel (the General Manager) an email and waited 8 days for a response. No response. I called the hotel and he was not available. Finally I got Amber on the line at the hotel who understood how unprofessional and unacceptable this lack of communication and whole ordeal was. She was able to help me with an addtional refund. Amber is the only reason I haven't rated customer service as a 1. It is unbelieveable that the gerenal manager of a hotel refuses to respond to emails or phone calls and seemingly doesn't care about the customer service in their hotel.

It was clean. It was really too hot to get out to the pool so I’m not sure about it.

Availability.

There was an odor of urine in the air.

Property was clean and very convenient to everything.

The location, the amenities and the room was very clean.

I paid for a room with a jacuzzi. The jacuzzi didn’t work. There was no hot water. I was told that they had to check or adjust the water heater. It still didn’t work. After a long day I was highly disappointed. They also had just got new tvs and my tv wouldn’t work and they weren’t sure how to make adjustments. There was also an annoying buzzing sound coming from an adjacent room the whole night. So I only got about 2 hours sleep. No jacuzzi, no tv, and an annoying buzzing sound all night. I complained of course and was told that I couldn’t speak to the manager and the only thing I could do was correspond via email. I didn’t at this point I just decided I wouldn’t stay there again. Very disappointing.
