good points: - staff, very friendly, helpful and quickly resolves the problems - rooms, generally clean, tidy and fresh, with fresh towels and soap, shampoo, body washing gel in the bathroom, hair dryer, tv, and iron. - free wifi - big parking lot bad points: - sadly my bed had bad mattress despite I warned about my bad back and I couldn't sleep first night on it at all. It was sorted when (next day) I spoken to receptionist, solution was a new room with good mattress. - the toilet fan is loud, definitely not cleaned recently and doesn't have timer. - switches are all over the place specially the ones for towel radiator, and there's no heating on the bathroom. - it can take some time to get out of the premises due to the traffic on road side note: check for the heater to be few degrees over your desired room temperature as it does not circulate air, therefore it can be colder than you think. To schieve 20 degrees around the bed we set it to 23, also it got night and day mode, so be aware of that, as you might be wondering why is so cold at night/day

Very spacious room. Great value for money.

Hotel was clean and staff were lovely. Breakfast was very good! Only downside was that we were meant to have a king size bed but it was two single mattresses together, the mattresses were also very uncomfortable and you can tell they have been used a lot.

It was quiet and lots of parking Room could do with updating armchairs dirty the bed sheet was stained and you had to flush the toilet 3 times to get rid of toilet roll. But in general i would stay there again given the price i payed

When I booked the Citrus hotel, hotels.com were advertising that breakfast could be bought when we were at the hotel. 3 days before our trip, the hotel emailed to say there would be no kitchen facilities all bank holiday weekends. I emailed back to confirm if this meant breakfast as well given hotels.com had advertised otherwise. I received no response. I called the hotel prior to the trip to have it confirmed that it also meant there was no breakfast option. This was really disappointing and made each of our mornings difficult as where we were going also had no breakfast options. The lack of communication between hotels.com and the hotel needs to be better. The communication between the hotel and guests needs to be better. When we arrived, we were given a free room upgrade that was appreciated. The room was basic, but clean and everything we needed.

The room smelled Mouldy, and smelled of cigarettes. Concerning as it was a non-smoking room. The bath tub looked unclean and not much ventilation. Hotel staff were kind but I wouldnt stay there again.

When you balance value for money versus the hotel itself, this hotel is decent. It is way overdue for a refurb, however the beds are comfortable, the rooms and bathrooms are big and the shower is more than powerful enough. Downside is that due to no daily cleaning (which I don’t mind), the coffee and milk isn’t replenished and so you need to ask for more at reception, which of course you’re never going to remember. I would happily stay again.
