Marriott brand

Late check-in. Clerk informed me "a" credit card they received for payment was invalid. I showed them my Booking.com confirmation. I had to give them another one of my credit cards as a deposit. Called Booking.com the next day. Hated the AI customer service. Did speak with a human and explained my confusion. Lady called the Marriott and spoke with a clerk. I thought issue was resolved. No, got called on invalid credit card again. On day 3, a clerk was able to explain to me and resolve the issue. It seems "a credit card" from Booking.com to convey monies between MArriott and Booking was invalid and not mine. Clerks had no idea how to resolve this issue. There is/was no "backdoor" for the clerk to talk with a Booking contact to resolve.
