We had 3 rooms. We had issues with turning the shower on and off, lighting at face sink was poor. The TV was not in good working order.

"double check unwanted alarms"

The check in experience was fine, the staff was friendly, and the hotel itself was nice enough. My bad experience was tied to the room, the built in alarm clock had a 6am alarm preset by the time we got in the room. We checked into the room late at night (11pmish) and we're looking forward to some rest and sleeping in. On one hand it's in our own interest to check there wasn't an alarm if we didn't want one... On the other hand I don't expect to have to check the alarm is reset, I guess I'd expect it to be reset like the rest of the room. The worst part is that the alarm is not easily accessible, we tried to just turn it off/unplug it but it's built into the desk. Of course the alarm snoozes (went off a 2nd time) and isn't simple to turn off. And last but not least the alarm was on full volume.

"Awful roaches"

They have roaches. I told the front desk the front desk said is because of rain roaches come from filth not from rain. So they changed rooms. The beds are so uncomfortable The next day I left to go to visit family when I came back there was more roaches so I said to hell with that and I left

A lot of homeless outside by the main street. It looks like the area is not safe. Also the housekeeper and the front desk who worked third shift was rude. We asked for an extra pillow for our son who’s sleeping in the pull out sofa when we checked in but we told the front desk we’ll just pick it up when we come back and she was nice to say that she’ll have it ready when we come back. But we came back after her shift so there was 2 different ladies in the front desk. The housekeeper didn’t want to give us a pillow instead asked me how many pillows do we have in our room why we need extra. I mean, do I have to explain why I need extra pillows? I have not had encountered in any hotel asked me why I need more pillows. I usually leave a tip for housekeepers but not this stay because of how we got treated when we came back to the hotel. Aside from that, the person who checked us in and out were very nice.
