Sonesta Select Whippany Hanover

Stayed for 3 days - Requested room service on 2 days and reminded the staff of the request but never got any room service for the whole stay.

Mostly, the staff was pretty friendly and helpful. The location and the quietness of the room location. And I had had a good experience one time before.

When I went to make a reservation initially in person, I waited in an empty lobby for about ten minutes. When the person finally showed up, I felt like I was a burden and left. There was no kind greeting from the curly, browned hair younger girl. I've had happier responses from people at a funeral. She also was there to take my room keys at the end of my visit. She either needs more training on customer care, or she isn't a good fit.

Location was my goal. The bed was very comfortable. But no microwave or frig....down by lobby.

No frig or microwave except by lobby. By the time I settle in I don't want to go downstairs to heat my food and go back upstairs. Just my quirk.

They say all the rooms is non-smoking in the room smell like smoke. The faculty is very disrespectful at the front desk.

Arrived to be told internet was down with no ETA for fixing ..... Rooms are a bit dated. But clean/secure etc. On the Saturday night arrived back at around 8pm to find a full blown party going on in several rooms in same corridor ..... 10pm they were eventually told to quite it down/left (made sure to make plenty of noise early as I left .......

Internet - while not their fault - looks like it had been down for a few days - notification, and then the chance to rebook would have been preferable.

We paid for Continental breakfast to be included with our stay, we called to find out what time breakfast was, they told us 7-9. When we walked to where breakfast should be there was no breakfast to be found. They told us they had frozen bagels and coffee. That is not a Continental breakfast, the staff offered us coffee and my mother and mother in-law said they would take a cup. They waited 40 minutes for a cup of coffee, we were ready to leave by that time and had to be out the door. Also the rooms were filthy, not the cleanliness you would expect from a hotel.
