Villa Elide

Es war sauber und das Gebäude war hübsch.

- es wurden Parkplatz angegeben, die es nicht gab. Wir fragten vorher extra an, wo die angegebenen Parkplätze zu finden sind. Dann hieß es plötzlich, dass damit lediglich gemeint war, dass öffentliche Parkplätze in der Nähe seien. Wir benötigten über zwei Stunden zur Suche und parkten sehr weit weg. Die Parkhäuser waren alle überfüllt und es wurde angeboten den Schlüssel da zu lassen , damit das Auto - sollte ein Platz frei werden- ordnungsmäß umgeparkt werden kann. Dies war uns zu unsicher, da wir einen Mietwagen hatten. Die Vermietung reagierte unfreundlich und warf uns vor, dass wir doch junge Leute seien und Google nutzen können. Dies hatten wir natürlich getan. Der Umgang war sehr unfreundlich sowie unangenehm. Der Fernseher war kaputt. Die Bahn fährt in der Nähe und man hört dauerhaft die Geräusche vom Zug, sodass man kaum schlafen konnte. Grundsätzlich ist es eine kleine sowie niedliche Stadt.

The villa was a lovelt property and our local contact was excellent. The interior was pretty, if small.

I was extremely excited about staying at Villa Elide and read maybe the first 5 reviews none of which mentioned that A HUGE COMMUTER TRAIN RUNS UNDERNEATH THE PROPERTY at intervals all day long and into the night as well. This was truly, comically awful. It's really loud - like a tornado,, and the entire house shakes. This happens over and over throughout the day and night. Not one of the reviews I looked at stated this unfortunate fact which is absolutely criminal. I would never, ever have booked this property had I known this. The property also opens to a treacherous, narrow road where people drive like crazy. I mean immediately opens - you are immediately in a lane of oncoming, crazy traffic. And there's a stretch towards town with no shoulder or sidewalk that you have to walk in. You're just walking in this narrow highway amongst whizzing cars and crazy drivers. This is not uncommon on the Amalfi coast, but it is notable and extremely treacherous so you should know this in advance. They did the absolute best with what they had, this began life as a grand villa but I would never, ever recommend this place to anyone. (Oh and the beds were amazingly uncomfortable as well and we saw a rat in the garden and you could hear everyone else in the building as if they were in the room with you).I have never been more disappointed in my life - and I'm truly not picky. It was just awful, if my ratings seem confusing, I'm just trying to be fair - the apartment was well appointed, spotlessly clean and the local contact was lovely. The tried to work with what they could, it just wouldn't be possible to fix the train under the apartment.

Location was on a very noisy road with hardly any pavement to walk on , we were woken every morning around 7.15 with banging up above our rooms , would have been nice to have a microwave and a bottle of milk and Teabags on our arrival, The furniture at the front door was old and broken , would not stay again .
