We had an enjoyable lunch at this restaurant within the Penina, it has a large terrace with tables overlooking the course, as well as a smart, clubby interior. Other areas of the hotel are rather dated. Service was outstanding, extremely guest focused. Food was ok, nothing to write home about. Apart from the Pastel de nata, which was delicious, but then, aren’t they always!

⸻ I stayed at this golf and hotel resort shortly after the horrendous storms. Let me start by saying that the standard of food and service is very good, and the staff are extremely pleasant and welcoming. Now for the downside: the damage to the course is significant and will require approximately a month of complete closure to clear the fallen trees. The long grass in the rough makes it almost impossible to find a lost ball — I lost three on one hole alone. The excess water around the sides of the course has also turned some areas into miniature swamps, complete with mosquitoes and other flying insects. That said, the greens were superb. I have never seen the south coast of Portugal looking so green — it was almost magical. However, a considerable amount of work is still needed to restore the course to a standard that would justify it being considered a top course.

Die ganze Einrichtung ist sehr veraltet und altmodisch. Die Matrazen waren durchgelegen, das Badezimmer hat auch schon bessere Zeiten erlebt. Eine totale Renovierung wäre angebracht.
