Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Columbia Harbison

This review would have been a 5 all the way through but the staff made it a 2. I checked in the hotel the male manager (Vilsar) was there. I asked if I could have an early check in since i had been driving over 8 hrs and was exhausted. He immediately said they had nothing available and said check in was at 3. I said ok, but I didn’t care if it was the exact room I booked and anything would be fine. He asked if I had a reservation and I said yes and gave him my info. He was looking to see if anything was clean and he had a sheet of paper with all the available rooms ( which I have) he was a bit abrupt asked for my liscense and credit card. As I was looking for it, I asked his name. He then said I need to stop acting entitled and early check in is not guaranteed. At that point I was just in so much disbelief he called me entitled as I was just standing there doing nothing. I asked how was I entitled, as I wasn’t yelling or fussing but just standing there. He said I wouldn’t give him my debit card or liscense and I asked for his name. I told him I was a reviewer and I leave reviews and wanted to acknowledge who helps. So it escalated to the point he said he would cancel my reservation and I could go somewhere else. Literally disbelief and exhausted I told him if that’s what he wanted to do then ok. I didn’t want to stay where I wasn’t welcomed. He then apologized if he came across harsh and was trying to help and gave me my room key.

Pull out couch very uncomfortable

The location

The first room we got didn't have a working television. Moved us to a room across the hall. The toilet made a terrible screeching sound every time you flushed and none of the bathroom outlets worked. The room was slightly damp and by the end of our 2 night stay you could definitely feel the dampness in our clothes and bedding. Also a window in the breakfast room had broken glass.

Wonderful staff you could tell someone had been praying in that hotel. I WILL DEFINITELY BE RETURNING TO STAY AGAIN!

Very nice hotel. The only reason I would not stay here again is they have a very small fridge with no freezer section. I need to keep my ice packs frozen while I travel with food for special dietary needs.
