Food on floor. TV initially not working. It took 2 walks down to the office to have them come fix it. I couldn't call them because the phone was broken and they knew it was. The up security lock on the door was broken of.
I would have gladly given this hotel 4 stars based on the room itself, but unfortunately I have to leave 1 star because of how this situation was handled by staff. My husband and 9-year-old son stayed here while traveling to see my dying mother-in-law — already an incredibly emotional and difficult trip for our family. After checking out, my son realized he had accidentally left his Spider-Man wallet in the room. It had $40 inside — money he had carefully saved himself. They called the hotel within an hour of leaving. We were told repeatedly that no wallet had been found and nothing had been turned in. This was the only place it could have possibly been left. We understand that items can sometimes be missed during cleaning, but the immediate and firm denial — despite the extremely short time frame — was deeply disappointing. It’s heartbreaking to explain to a child that the money he saved is simply gone. What makes this especially upsetting is that we initially thought this would become our regular stop when traveling back home to visit family. That will no longer be the case. We hope management will take this seriously, review their procedures, and do the right thing.
USTelevision was unwatchable -- no guide to see what was scheduled; and, being some version of internet TV, there must have been at least 500 channels. No ability to filter channels. Without TV, what else is there to do in beautiful downtown Winnemucca?
FRIt was comfortable, the bed was fine, the shower was ok. The reception was fairly friendly.
There was a lot of noise the night we stayed. I also found the price extremely high for the quality—I suppose owing to the miners needing accommodation in Winnemucca. There should be a way that tourists coming through shouldn’t have to pay the price for lack of local solutions for mining workers!
USClean, quiet and comfortable beds. We were in room 215 which was the top floor with two beds. Front desk guy was very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and nicely decorated.
