Courtyard Rockaway-Mount Arlington

If you’re considering a stay in the Rockaway-Mt. Arlington Region, the Courtyard Marriott is a decent choice. The staff is particularly friendly, the rooms are of a good size, and the gym is adequate. However, the hotel does show signs of wear and tear and lacks some amenities. On the plus side, the hotel is conveniently located with quick highway access, and the rooms come with microwaves, pull-out couches, decent showers, and larger-than-usual refrigerators. On the downside, the rooms lack a safe, the beds are stiff, and there’s insufficient lighting. The hotel needs some refreshing, as the rooms show signs of wear and tear. In our room, one of the lights wasn’t working, the toilet seat was cracked, and there were rust stains in the bathroom. The breakfast is very limited. Be aware that even though photos of an indoor pool are online, it’s no longer there. The bottom line: if you’re looking for a place to stay in this area, the Courtyard Marriott is sufficient, but not more.

There were no microwaves in the rooms. The floor was wet near one of the beds. Our daughter's room toilet did not flush properly. Our bathroom fan did not work.

The Courtyard Rockaway hotel in Mt. Arlington, NJ was a stressful experience for me and my family that I wish to erase from my mind. DO NOT EXPECT EASE OR SATISFACTION WITH THE FOOD AT THIS PLACE. You do not get what you pay for here. The Bistro is what you get for the $275 rate and ONLY COVERS 2 ADULTS. The rest of your family, if you are here with kids, will need to figure it out. The food offerings are sparse, limited, and astronomically priced. There is no room service for food to be sent to your room. Want the whole family to eat without spending even more money? You need to go drive out, AGAIN. SLEEPING HERE IS NOT EASY TO DO. The walls are PAPER THIN. If you want a relaxing stay, reconsider coming here.

I loved how clean the property was and the staff was very accommodating

It was clean but extremely noisy

We stayed at this hotel for a family wedding. We stay two days; a Saturday and a Sunday. Overall, this is not what I expected from the Marriott. We paid $250/day which is a substantial amount.we showed twice our first day so our towels were dirty. I asked at the front desk if I could have fresh towels and have our bed made. The lady said yes to the towels but said, “I don’t think I can ask them to make your bed.” I explained that I didn’t want clean sheets, just pull the bed together. We ate breakfast and spent a couple of hours in the lobby. I returned to my room, saw 2 maids in the hall and went into my room. The towels were on the toilet and the dirty towels were on the floor and the bed was unmade. At approximately $550.00 for two days I think they could have picked up the dirty towels and made the bed. I don’t think I should have to step over dirty towels and make my own bed. The food selection at breakfast was minimal and the scrambled eggs were not hot. Poor customer service.
