We loved our stay at Tagore Harbor Hostel! The staff was very welcoming. We had a beautiful room overlooking the harbor. Despite the bad weather, we really enjoyed the view. The bed was comfortable and the shared bathroom facilities were very clean. When we left, we had some great coffee in the cafe downstairs. A really nice spot for those looking to explore the area in a relaxed way.

We stayed next to a family of 5. They were lovely, but because the walls are quite thin, it was a bit noisy. The hostel is aware of this and provides ear plugs. Between 11pm-7am we had a good sleep, but for those who prefer to sleep in or go to bed earlier - you might want to look further.

The harbor view from our room was really unique. It felt amazing waking up to the sights of the fishing ships leaving in the morning. The food was also surprisingly good. We tried a few different things from the menu and everything was excellent. The breakfast is simple in a good way, and totally worth the price. Everything feels modern and stylish. I think they did a good job reforming the building from whatever it was before.

As of June 2025, there is some extensive roadwork going on immediately outside that makes it both harder to find, and a little less impressive. That said, we did manage it and the staff immediately made us feel welcome. The area is a little bit of a weird one for tourists. Its not your typical Japan experience, so don't go there expecting anything other than a quiet fishing town! If you visit, I recommend attempting the public baths. There were too suggested to us (with a discount), and the cheaper of the two was based in a building that had a lot of information about the local area to look through.

Staff was great, excellent room and bed. All reviews read are spot on, a nice place to stay with a taste of a small fishing town. Recommend buying the ticket for public onsen. Thanks for help in English

This hostel is a gem. It has a super cool vibe and decoration. Everything ja beautifully designed and the views are amazing!! They offer a breakfast which is good for its value and in the nice cafe. Would repeat without hesitating. The champús were smelling so good!

Lovely location looking out into the Harbour. 711 is just behind the hostel. A few eateries around the vicinity. A good pit stop for the night and to experience a quiet sleepy fishing port.

Nothing much except I would have appreciated an advance information of the construction taking place just at the entrance of the hostel, it would have prepared me that I would have to walk a short distance with my luggage. Thank you.
