Homewood Suites by Hilton Hillsboro Beaverton

We had a decent stay and the size of the room was more than adequate, however, it is obvious the building is older and the renovation is older. There is a lot of wear on materials and our bathroom had what looked like pink mold in the wallpaper… but we were assured after an inspection that it was “red hair dye” that had seeped into the wall. Either way, that should be rectified when you’re paying these kinds of prices to stay in a hotel. The breakfast was mediocre, especially the eggs… which tasted like they were powdered as opposed to cooked fresh. I don’t have a problem spending money to stay at nice hotels, but I expect to get what I pay for and I don’t feel that was the case here. Hopefully the management works to improve this facility thanks in part to this feedback.

The suite was very large and comfortable. It was nice to have the refrigerator, dishes, microwave, coffee maker, and living space with an extra TV. It was close to the sports complex.

The bed was too hard, and there was a swimming pool advertised on the website, but there wasn't one actually there anymore, so that was disappointing.

Good breakfast. Squeaky bathroom door. Slippery shower/ tub. No bar for handicapped in shower/tub.

Good variety. Would enjoy more seasonal fruits like melons.

Electricity was out one AM - staff didn't seem to care or try to make it up to guests. They were scrambling but not trying to help appease people. Room service is only every other day but said we could ask. I asked for additional service 2 times and one of the times I asked them to just come up and get dirty towels and garbage while we were gone all day. I tidied it up & just needed stuff picked up for space. Service never came - I got back around dinner time & called to report. Staff could not be bothered & didn't seem to care at all! They were like "Sorry. They have now left. You can bring it down with cart. I can't leave the desk. " Room wasn't that clean in general & kind of stuffy. It was NOT a good deal for the money & nothing was near for amenities. Electricity was out 4-5 hours. I was told I couldn't use work out room despite saying I didn't need the equipment. Also, there is no pool despite when you look up hotel on google, there is a pic that makes it appear there is one. We asked about that & mentioned the picture. Staff didn't seem to care one iota about that either - told us to "call around fitness centers that were near" without providing us a list. We did call but cost was $58 PER PERSON for it. Horrible, horrible experience. I asked about any running trails near & was told "No idea. I don't run." I was able to find a loop that I could do. I have stayed at the same Homewood Suites in Hot Springs & had a wonderful exp - THIS WAS A NIGHTMARE.

Nice suite. Everything was clean. Good contininetal breakfast. Staff was great with very late check in
