Hilton Garden Inn Portland Airport

Chicken took a while and they couldn’t find my Expedia reservation.

Breakfast was good, location is convenient for those who is interested in Columbia River Gorge. Free parking is big plus. And we liked spacious room and wide beds.

Room comfort definitely requires improvement: 1. Who invented these sliding door for bathrooms?! They are non-isolating, non-lockable and ours was tending to slide back thus making bathroom wide open. 2. window does not suppress the noise of the cars (nearby street traffic is significant) and airplanes (remember about airport proximity!). May be rooms on opposite side of the hotel are better but we were unlucky. 3. Air-conditioner in our room was rattling in addition to normal AC noise. May be because its cover was not fixed from one side. P.S. My card was over-charged for breakfasts which were supposed to be complimentary. As I noticed it during check out, so hopefully it will be refunded but why had this happened?

this property was not up to the Hilton standards that I am used to. Got nickeled and dimed for everything. Morning coffee was $2.50 a cup! No breakfast included. Rooms were not cleaned every day.

Got treated worst than the homeless person, who was head first, digging through the dumpster. On 06/27 the hotel manager cancelled our room and kicked us out. She had an issue with us throwing 3 bags of trash away into her dumpster. 10 minutes later there was a homeless women head down digging through the dumpster and the manager ignored her.

This hotel is on a really busy street with the airplane noise and cars it's really hard to sleep. We were close to the elevator so you can hear the bell throughout the night as well. Cleanliness was pretty good. The front desk lady was really hard to understand because of her accent and she was very soft spoken. Definitely not a cheerful welcoming. Breakfast is at 7am on the weekends not 6. Would definitely pick a different spot next time because of the noise. It is away from downtown and the nasty bums.

The room was clean and had plenty of space.

The handicap rooms should be on the first floor not the top floor
