Hampton Inn Clarks Summit

Chef didn't take my request to make an omelette for my child without meat. they had it in menu for breakfast with Ham in it and we don't eat meat. Just a quick suggestion if that can be accommodated for some customers. Hard boiled eggs were there so it was still good.

Has always at this hotel the staff were friendly and everything was clean. They went above and beyond to see if we needed anything. Breakfast was well stocked and hot. Attendants were present and made sure food was replace quickly and everything was kept clean.

LIke other reviewers, we had a good stay at the Hampton Inn in Clark Summit just north of Scranton. Our main goal was to ski and this hotel is about half way between Elk Mountain and Montage. Hampton Inns have a reputation of being slightly upmarket from your budget highway hotel and this location lived up to that reputation. The rooms were clean, well equipped, and had nice queen beds. The breakfast was nicer than typical, although it would be nice if they switched to reusable plates. The staff was very friendly even when busy. There is an indoor pool that families were happily using, although we did not have time to check it out. There are several restaurants both chain and independent along Route 11. Ear plugs are provided and are helpful as Route 11 does have some truck traffic. My only knock is that they offered everyone bottled water at check-in and check-out, which seems like an awful waste of single use plastic. The tap water tasted fine and I'm not sure why bottled water was always being offered. One weird final note - this hotel sits in the direct shadow of one of the largest bridges on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The hotel is four-five stories tall and the bridge towers over it at 15 stories in height. If you get weird fears you might get the willies that a truck way up on the bridge is going to careen off the edge and come smashing into the hotel. This is basically impossible, but nevertheless wanted to point that out.

We had an excellent stay. The staff were great, we really enjoyed the room and breakfast and the complimentary waters before we got back on the road were really appreciated!

It was conveniently located near shopping areas and restaurants.

Rooms are nice, good location.

Breakfast was ok, not as big as some other Hampton properties. our room was too hot, seems we had to turn on the air conditioning to cool it down.
