Hampton Inn Mount Dora

I have been a loyal Hilton member for 17 years. For my wedding I reserved several rooms for guest that wanted to attend the wedding. We reserved the rooms months in advance without knowing who might actually stay at the hotel. With the wedding fast approaching on April 4th, I contacted the hotel directly and asked them to cancel any rooms that I had reserved and were linked to my credit card. The staff assured me they had. A few days go by and I am still receiving notification, so I contacted the hotel again and they once again assured me everything was cancelled. A few more days go by and I receive a bill for over $2K! I contacted the hotel manager Victoria and she said that I was beyond my cancellation time and there was nothing she could do even though her employees had previously mentioned they had cancelled "everything". The time to tell me they could not cancel "everything" was during my original phone call and not after the fact. This is a con job. During my travels I have had to cancel hotels dozens of time due to cancelled flights, cancelled meetings, etc. and Hilton had never once given me any issues. I gave these folks plenty of time to put these rooms back into service. Some wedding present this was. I will not be staying at a Hilton property again and will instruct my sales team and service techs to not use Hilton. It is worth mentioning corporate Hilton said there was nothing they could do either.

Convenient to downtown & Renningers.

Breakfast was basic.

It was a nice clean hotel with a good free breakfast and coffee, tea etc available all day long.

First floor room was a little noisy with traffic in the hall but it was convenient. Not sure i would want a first floor room with a longer stay.

The room furniture was filthy dirty as was the sofa in the dining area. Room had a musty, dirty smell. The only reason we stayed was it was storming nastily and getting late to find another room for the night.

The dirty, smelly room. Whole hotel needs cleaned, furniture replaced and updated. Staff was pleasant. Otherwise, deeply disappointed in Hampton Inn. They have gone downhill over the last few years.

Breakfast was very good.

They were working on the plumbing outside our door and no one told us until we questioned the workers. Management should have told us early that morning so we could brush our teeth, use the bathroom and shower before the water was turned off. Other than that we would come back.

Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Needs updating especially the carpet and bathroom. Have a pool but unable to use.

Dog barking for several hours across hall.. checkout said manager would be in touch to adjust price. Never happened
