"Clean apartment. "

8.0

A standard, clean apartment with all basic necessities. We arrived at 11pm but the owner was nowhere to be seen and all lights were off. After ringing the bell and the contact number a few times, the owner finally poked his head out of his window. A few scary minutes were we thought we might have to sleep on the steps. The owner asks for payment in cash as soon as you arrive - may be worth noting as he doesn't tell you this beforehand. Easy walk to the sea and the old town. Near a bus stop but we were happy to walk.

"High value, clean and nice "

8.0

This place has received some mixed reviews, but my girlfriend and I would gladly stay again. Ivan was a terrific host, and his parents was very nice. Some earlier reviewers said Ivan kept their passports for days. He just took a picture of ours, so that is not an issue anymore. It's a easy 10-15 min walk to the old town. If you are arriving in zadar with bus you should pay no more than 30 kunas.

"We stayed for 10 nights"

8.0

We needed a place to spend 10 nights and this was very affordable. The host took our passports overnight to photocopy them and returned them the next day. He is very kind and speaks a bit of English. This very clean 3rd floor apartment has sloping ceilings and my tall husband hit his head several times in the kitchen. Kitchen had a butane gas stove which was a bit tricky until we figured it out. This kitchen has very basic cookware and knives but we made do with it. Sitting room was comfortable. Air conditioner is in this room and works very well. You want to close the doors and windows in the early evening before the mosquitoes fly in. Wi-fi worked fine 95% of the time. There is a CD music player. The TV worked fine but had no English-speaking channels that we could find. Bathroom has several switches, one of which seems to be for hot water so keep it on so your shower stays hot. He had no problems with water supply. There is a clothes washer in the bathroom but we could not get it to work. We never asked manager for help with it so maybe it would have worked. The bed was medium in comfort. Pillows were not so comfortable, quite large and fluffy. Some street sounds can be heard if you sleep with windows open. Overall, a very quiet neighborhood with ample parking on the street. The balcony offers a beautiful view of the sunset every night! It has a small table and chairs and a clothesline.

"Clean apartment not in city centre"

6.0

Stayed there for two nights. Pros: Spotless clean, quiet, large apartment, good air conditioning, good shower/bathroom, full amenities, owner gave us a map of the city with main attractions. Cons: 20/25min walk to Zadar centre (not 10min as advertised), not much going on in the area. Great if you have a car as there is a free parking. Poor wifi connection (out of 3, one had an inaccurate password, one did not work and the last one we had to be in the bathroom with the window open to get a slow connection). Bathtowels felt like scrub to your body. Overall: the apartment was fine but not central without a car even though it is realistic doing it by walk.

"Good value if you work out the exchange rate before hand"

6.0

A fairly typical room in Croatia, our apartment was a good size and perfectly clean, actually better than the photos we saw before. Very close to the beach, walk into town is a little longer at about 25 minutes though. I don't know if this happened accidentally or not but we did pay way over what we were supposed to. We payed in kuna instead of the quotes rate in euros, the owner worked it out in his head and it was only afterwards that I realised we payed £20 extra for a single night!

"Good value for money"

8.0

We spent one week in appartment Amico at the end of June, Appartment is nice and clean with small balcony, towels changed 1 x per week. It takes cca 15 mins to walk to the old town, you can take bus as well (bus stop 1 around the corner, near to bakery). 10 mins walk to the nearest beach, you can take bus to popular Borik beach as well. The owner kept our passports, once being asked to return them back he gave us only one of 4...Dont understand why, appartment was booked via booking, he had all details to charge us. However, he was nice and friendly and agreed with checkout at 11.00, once checked out we put our luggage into car and went to the beach again :) Be careful dont turn of boiler, we did it by mistake when turning light of. You ll need Raid/plenty of mosquitos and feel free to ask landlord to provide you with local version of Raid. I recommend Konoba Rafaelo, great food and nice staf, restaurant Lungo mare is nice but food is not that much good. overall apparment amico is good value for money, quiet place with small shops, bakeries nearby.

"Good space, Nice apartments"

8.0

Nice, clean apartment, with balcony. Nice gardenwiew. The owner welcomed us, and gave us a lot of information, maby to much! Changed towels twice a week. The kitchen - well equipped- had a gas stove. The water ended suddenly a morning. A little languageproblems, but nice owner. Kept our passports for many days. 10 min walk to the old town, 15 to the beach. It's a few shops in the area, hairdressers and a farmacy. Quiet area, would like to stay here Again.

"Great space for the money!"

8.0

My boyfriend and I wound up here "accidentally" when we arrived in Zadar late at night, and we it's a good thing, since we probably would have avoided this place based on earlier reviews. First, however, the cons: If your want to be right on the beach, this wouldn't be for you. It is within 10 minutes by foot to the water, though. It is basically in a residential area with a great balcony view of the water (more on this later). Also, the decor isn't very modern. It is 1970's style wood paneling and a box style TV (although the satellite works great, and receives many channels). The stove is gas, with a propane tank, but this was fine for light cooking. Also, checkout was sort of early-10:00. I thought since we checked in so late, he would be negotiable, but he wasn't. We wanted to sleep late, but we had to set alarms for 8:30. Speaking of sleep, the bed was a little strange. I couldn't decide if it was too hard or too soft. It was kind of like sleeping in a very taut hammock. My boyfriend thought it was perfect, however. We both slept really well though, and neither of us had any pain when we woke up in the morning. Lastly on the cons: The water for the whole street turned off at 9:30, and my boyfriend had to stop his shower with soap still on him. The landlord said it wouldn't turn back on until noon, but then just as we were leaving, it came back on again. Maybe it was the language barrier, or maybe he just didn't know, but that was frustrating. I recommend taking your showers and finishing other hygiene early. Now the pros: Very kind landlord. He did take our passports until morning, but still, he nice, sweet man, and if we had stayed, he would have helped us with things to do in Zadar. It was a very quiet neighborhood. If we didn't have to check out so early, we would have slept in much later. There was no noise to wake us up at all. If you are staying more than one day, this would be a big advantage. It is a very large space, with a kitchen, a bathroom (with a washer), living room, big bedroom, a big terrace with table and clothesline. The terrace is a beautiful place for breakfast, and a great view of the water. The whole place was nice and clean. If you are sensitive to deodorizers, though, you may notice the chemical cleaner smell that they use to clean the place. My boyfriend didn't notice it, and I only noticed it for the first hour or so. Overall, this was a great, clean, large space, and an excellent value: 40€ per night. It is a 10minute walk to the water. If you are looking for a good value, and aren't too nitpicky about decor or having to be right on the beach, then this place is for you.

"Great apartment in a good location"

8.0

Lovely clean apartment, lots of space, - garden apartment (although you don't look out on a garden) but there is outside space. Good price for Zadar. five minute walk from the water front and you can then walk in to Zadar along the seafront and take the rowing ferry over to the old city. The owners arranged transfer from the airport for 20 euros, worth doing as by 9.30 we were sitting in a restaurant having landed at the airport at 8.50 and booked into our apartment. Lots of information and the owners will help with anything you, might need. my only strong recommendation is DO NOT eat at Restaurant Lungo Mare (see my review) you are risking spoiling your holiday before you start if you do! Great little cafes and bakeries up the road for a casual breakfast. A great place to stay.
