The staff were always friendly, although we didn't ask much of them and just figured things out about the city on our own. Google Maps, Google Translate, a currency converter and the Grab app are your best friends whilst in Vietnam. The hotel is walking distance to a number of attractions and shopping centres, incl Ben Thanh Market, Opera House, Cafe Apartment building, and Saigon Skydeck. The hotel pool and gym is quite nice, although neither are very big, but free swim towels was a nice touch. It's a shame that breakfast wasn't included in one of my two room bookings - the hotel charges 200k VND per person per day and we didn't take them up on that offer.

There is a market operating in the same street as the hotel, and our room faces this. It was noisy - the windows did not provide much noise cancellation. It is a very popular street food location - the juice/coffee stand was excellent and a number of Bahn mi sellers plus soup/noodle joints. The only drawback is the street dogs, cats and visible rats going in and out of these stalls without a care in the world! In the nearby streets, there are a lot of dancing/adult bars and clubs - cool if that's your thing, but might not be nice to walk the family back from dinner plus dozens of 'ladies of the night' hawking their wears. The room itself was huge and the bed was too. Didn't love that the toilet door didn't shut properly and the shower room had no fan so mold was visible on ceiling and the room smelled like damp concrete.
