Suburban Studios LaVale - Cumberland

We chose to stay here because it was exactly half way between where we live and the beach we were traveling to. This L shaped hotel is easy to find and sits directly across the street from an Applebees, Buffalo Wild Wings and PetSmart—just down the hill from the Country Club Mall. There is a Walmart very close by. The first thing that was very obvious upon pulling into the parking lot, judging by the vehicles, is that this place is used by a lot of construction/utility workers. Checkin was easy. We took our fur babies, more than reasonable pet fee at $10 per dog. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant and let us borrow a bottle opener. The lobby was clean and had a little section full of sundries and beverages for purchase. The elevator was on the smaller side and had cheap wallpaper that was peeling. There was a musty smell throughout the hotel and the room we stayed in. There are 3 floors, no views to speak of. For some reason in my head I pictured the room to be a little bigger. It’s equipped with a two burner stove top, microwave, a small dining table with 2 chairs. A coffee table, refrigerator and cabinetry. The stovetop is in very close proximity to the bed, about 2.5 feet, which would make cooking very difficult. The only trash cans in the room were small waste baskets under the vanity and in the bathroom. The cabinets were empty. No pots/pans, plates/bowls or cooking utensils. I’d recommend bringing your own pillows as the king bed only had 3. By no means is this place the Ritz, and I couldn’t really see myself coming back here to just chill. But I’d definitely stay here again if I needed to. I give it a solid 3 stars. The room was clean, location was great and the bed was comfortable.

We were pleasantly surprised and happy we stayed there because not only is it conveniently located near restaurants but it is also pet friendly.

I stayed here during my son football tournament and I must say this is the lowest prices motel we have every stayed in as we always stay in most up scale places. But this was a terrible experience. Upon arrival to the room the bedding WAS NOT CLEAN. There was curly hairs on the pillow, in addition to just dirt in the sheets. Pillows was not pillows. They were very flat. Wasn't enough towels, not was their thick enough. The bathroom was not clean! The room service its purpose which was just to sleep for two nights, but the place still need to make sure things are clean. Especially where people sleep. The lady at the front desk was very apologetic but still a terrible experience.

The place was convenient and affordable for a quick night to sleep. We were turned off by the bed linens having stains, hair, and dirt on arrival in the room. Kindly the staff brought new sheets and replaced upon request.

This hotel has done a great job at revamping this hotel...Givimg a 10 on hospitality and cleanliness....Fair price to charge on pets,even have a nice dog area with a few tables....This ìs are go to when we come to visit friends.Would recomend
