The apartment is very neat, beautifully decorated and well equipped.

We really liked our stay at the Den apartments. We were looking for a last minute stay in Stellenbosch and found this located just outside of the historic center. Great and secure location. Apartment has all modern facilities you could ever wish for.

I would have to think here. Two things come to mind which could be improvements (but not negative really). I would say the air-conditioning did not cool during our stay - only fan - however, this might have been due to the power-outages in South Africa. There was a cooling fan present in the apartment to help cool. (Note we were there in middle of summer and even then it was really still okay!). The bathroom (one for two rooms) could use some additional towel racks and space to put your toiletries.

We were provided with two candles in a two bedroom apartment to be used during load shedding. We were not provided with a lighter or a torch. The air conditioner unit stopped working after one day. We contacted the company and had no response from them to even say it couldn’t be fixed yet. Previously the company had been replying to emails within a few hours.

It was nice and clean. The linen was fluffy and white and the nice coffee machine was a big plus. The security guards were helpful and the lift a bonus.

There was a fair amount of load shedding and no back up light. I was caught in the pitch dark in the shower one night. Most places provide a backup light, which would have been appreciated. There were also a lot of mosquitos. A room spray and / an electric insect repellant would have been appreciated. It was not easy to get into the apartment block - there could have been a note on the welcome message to explain that the security guard will let you in.

Central location, washing machine, aircon, security, clean (except for carpet which has not been washed in months). Suitable for quick overnight stay, not extended stays.

This should be flagged as suitable for students mostly. Coffee machine had not been cleaned, we got food poisoning from filthy filter. Apartment block noisy in the evening with students. No back up power, no alternative lighting in the unit, so when power goes off you sit in the dark.
