"Comfortable hotel, stunning location - small pool"

Very pleasant stay. Great room, very comfortable and quiet, but not air-conditioned even though it says in description here on hotels.com that it is AC (and temperatures were pushing 30 degrees during stay, which I know is not normal for Ireland). Stunning location and great staff. Amazing bathroom and very generous-sized bedroom. Good cooked breakfast but cold buffet quite limited. Biggest disappointment was the 'swimming' pool. It is more like a large plunge pool and not suitable at all for swimming. But great hot tub / jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, which makes the small pool in the same complex even more disappointing. Due to the unusually warm weather I had a swim in the harbour outside and it was amazing, also lying in the surf at the end of the falls was so invigorating. Would return again if there were a decent swimming pool or very good weather and could swim in the harbour. Otherwise Parknasilla Hotel nearby would be my preference, even though the bed-rooms are not as big or comfortable.

In a county with many hotels, this place is really special. It is nestled in a beautiful estate. I kept changing my mind on my favourite view; the waterfall, the old stone bridge, the bay, the beautiful horses in the nearby stables. The staff are particularly thoughtful. My room was a joy with views of the river. The hotel has its own smokery and offers a beautiful smoked salmon and eggs breakfast. Sheen falls was a treat for the soul

Love the town of Kenmare and this lodge. Very spacious and well-appointed rooms, wonderful dining and bar area (loved sitting outside for wine in the evening and very accommodating staff. The room was a little warm due to warm temperatures but certainly didn't spoil our time at all. I wish we'd had more time to hang around the hotel and take it in. Would definitely recommend it and its general location to wonderful outdoor activities.
