Great location, fabulous service, great bar menu. Rooms were well appointed and very comfy.

It wasnt clear that breakfast was an additional cost - needs to be explained.

Easy check in. Staff very accommodating, found us a ground floor room as we have an infant. Bar area lovely for a drink or some food. Lovely clean room and bathroom, big bath and shower.

Warning about low beam at stairs to room toilet needs to be earlier and more visible in some way.

Great location for access into the town. Amazing shower and comfy room.

The carpet in the room and the stairs in the annex were very dirty and really need an urgent deep clean. This was the only bad thing at the hotel. Otherwise all good.

The Old Black Lion is extremely well placed to explore Hay. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, expecially with my various eating disorders. I was there for 2 nights and both of my evening meals were excellent. I only had very small, ( non-cooked) breakfasts so can't really comment on them. My room was comfortable. I would stay again....indeed l plan to next year.

Only a little thing, which didn't impact on my enjoyment of my stay..... l'd have liked my shower water to have been hotter. Everything else was fine and dandy...

Just a little limited on veggie/vegan options of food, but what I had was delicious
