Rina's House

I loved the huuuge bed and the mostly quiet time.

Unfortunately, for my preference I would enjoy a more private location. This place was deep in the city.

Perfect for the money, tiny place with everything necessary for comfortable stay.

Rina’s House is being renovated at present so not really appropriate to comment on the property. Communication with the owner was fantastic, very caring and helpful. The house is in the old part of Kalabaka right at the base of the trail to the Holy Trinity Monastery (took us 40 minutes, reasonable climb). We stayed an extended time and enjoyed many of the walks in the area- definitely I would recommend staying in Kalabaka for more than just a day or two. Kalabaka town market of Fridays is well worth a visit- though Rina’s house is small (and the kitchenette even smaller!), we managed to enjoy many meals prepared from the wonderful local produce…

Kalabaka has a huge number of stray cats and a correspondingly limited amount of birdlife…!Visiting outside the high season there are no busses up to the monasteries- however we found that it would anyway be always better to spend very few Euros (between 12 and 15) on a taxi… There is an outdoor setting by the entrance door, however the yard area is shared with the adjacent larger house (which has its own 4 seat setting)

It's a small house with a yard where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. The house is tiny but it has really all you would need for your stay! Dimitra was really a great host, she texted me all the necessary info in advance, adding a lot of extra tips for the monasteries, restaurants, shops, and more places to visit. I encountered a health trouble, and she was also assisting with useful info on a medical centre. The house is very close to the center, literally 5 min, at a quiet place, it is very convenient to visit all. There are cats visiting the yard, no matter if you agree or not, they are coming in numbers, so cute! There is definitely a lot of charm in this house, the hosts are so nice and we will definitely go there again.
