Rina's House

Oh, where to begin!! We were in Kalambaka for only two nights and it was way too short. We loved staying in Rina's House - a cosy little garden cottage with everything we needed and more: good quality bed sheets, aircon, excellent wifi, a coffee machine with 4 pods, a washing stand outside, even an ironing board and iron. Dimitra, the owner, was away on holiday, but she send us all details and wonderful recommendations via WhatsApp. Jusy a little bit behind the cottage the unigue rock formations of this area tower above you. The cottage is also very close to the beginning of the Meteora trail and that is exactly where we went. We hiked the Meteora loop and was privileged to see all 6 monasteries close-up and visit Varlaam. The rock formations and monasteries is truly magical. Photos can't really do it justice. We also enjoyed the laid back small town vibe way more than Athens crowded streets. We would love to come back someday and can definitely recommend Rina's house!

Everything was perfect. The host genuine warmth and outstanding hospitality were exceptional. Thank you for all the recommendations, helped us a lot. The place was very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Nothing bad to say

We loved absolutely everything about this accomodation. Perfect location, just at the foot of the Meteora rocks, the hiking route to the heart of the area starts just a few minutes from the house. Our host was extremely helpful, and give us lot of ideas what to do in the area. :) The house is quite small, but has everything you need for a longer stay. It's cosy, and you can use the small garden and see the Meteoras from the yard. We could park with our car 10 meters from the house. Bonus: nice cats and turtles in this part of the city, and far from the noise of Kalambaka's not so pleasant downtown.

The location and thats about it .

The house itself is unsafe to stay.I dont know who gave this tiny “storage” room the license to be a room that people can live . One of the tree bark/support that hold the ceiling is bended .The whole house is painted in a clumsy amateur way and the renovation/building of it is the same its hippy style and decoration is cute until u start realizing that there are holes on the roof filled with foam ,there are screws placed frantically holding the place together and the ceiling is supported in an amateur way too.Ofcourse in a place like that if u have allergies you are doomed . We had to leave and check out early because our allergies fired up. Ofc when we asked for a refund we neved got it but to be honest we ask for it at 2 pm so the owner inform us its too late to clean and make it available for the other guest so i think it was fair. The owner was helpful tho and its a shame we need to give bad review but this place especially at this price shouldn’t host anyone .

Friendly host communication with lots of recommendations that were so helpful in text format. Beautiful view from outdoor patio. Comfortable bed. Kitchen well equipped for our needs.

Not a lot of indoor space to sit or eat when weather uncooperative to be outside.

I had a lovely stay at Rina's. Dimitra sends you lots of information before you arrive (what to do, where to hike, where to eat etc). This was really helpful as a solo traveller. The room itself had everything I needed/worked great, and the location is 5 mins walk to the centre where you can find some amazing restaurants. When I visit Kalabaka again, I'll be sure to stay at Rina's. Great option for location, price, and great service all round
