"Booking.com did not advise us that Vagabond Inn would not honour our booking."

We booked the vagabond accommodation months ago in 2015. We flew from New Zealand to the USA and drove to Bakersfield to stay at the Vagabond Inn. I had tried to ring them earlier to let them know we were running late. No one answered. I then messaged them on the booking.com link. When we arrived at 8pm the person in charge informed us that they had cancelled our booking. We were furious. To not honour our booking agreement is dishonest and reprehensible.
