Hotel Tropicus Boutique

Location is central to the gay night clubs and only. Few blocks from beach. Close to cafes and restaurants and the central area of Zona romantics. Felt safe walking around as a solo 41yo woman. Accom wasn’t bad but only for a couple of nights. Clean and tidy. They turn your towels into cute animals or flowers with the daily housekeeping. Bedroom has AC and a couple of power outlets on either side of the bed. Good size accommodations and spacious. Bedding, linen and towels were clean. Shower temperature and pressure was good. Small kitchenette bench area with mini fridge. Drip coffee machine but shame no kettle to make cups of tea. Wifi seems okay the 2 nights I stayed but think trying to stream from my own Netflix to the tv it maybe wasn’t strong enough? Perhaps why I couldn’t load my streaming services or connect them properly. But no cable tv. Only local channels. I think a couple of water bottles were provided upon arrival (can’t remember) but i know I had to buy more. The mini fridge was good for cold water. Place was cleaned daily too

No AC or tv in living room. This was only in the bedroom. So if you had anyone sleeping on the fold out couch they would be suffering in the humidity. Living area had a small kitchenette bench area with fridge and a couple of glasses/mugs. Couldn’t get streaming services like Netflix to work even when I tried to follow the internet and tv setup instructions (there is no manual to do this). This place is also right in the gay nightclub district so outside the bedroom balcony is a noisy busy street with music and people noise until 530am non Stop. Truck reversing sensors that beep and motorbikes revving and driving off. With the door shut to the balcony in the bedroom it does dull the noise just a little but not enough if you’re a light sleeper. Good location if you’re here to party til sunrise but not for sleep at night. Mattress was also too firm. There was no lift and no one to assist getting a heavy suitcase up two flights of stairs. No cable or working streaming services. Wifi was okay but maybe not strong enough as I tried to connect my iPhone to the tv to stream from my own account and it kept spooling. I tried airplay and Chromecast setups using the internet and google to try and sort out the tv connection setup and couldn’t get the streaming services to load. Noticed the floor was not cleaned properly and presume it doesn’t get mopped regularly. Saw quite a bit of dust/dirt on the tiled flooring in bedroom and living area. Walking around without sandals or shoes means dirty feet. So some hygiene and cleanliness could be improved. A little rundown and older style. It’s okay for 1-2 nights stay and towels and line were clean so if dirt on the floor is the worst then that is manageable. Could do with some more sound proofing and an AC in living area
