Hotel Playa Espadilla y Gardens

We believed we had booked in their main hotel but were put in their nearby sister inferior hotel. It is difficult to tell from the site which hotel your room is booked in but there is a significant difference in them.

The location was great. Easy walk to the beach, restaurants and Manuel Antonio park. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was friendly and breakfast was very good.

A wonderful hotel from which you can walk to the beach and very close to the beautiful Parque Manueel Antonio, one of Costa Rica's main natural attractions

We absolutely loved our stay at Playa Espadilla the food was delicious, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and it was really walkable to both the national park and the public beach. I highly recommend staying here!

We (couple) stayed here over a late rainy (and very rainy) season week. We loved Hotel Playa Espadilla and its friendly and thoughtful staff. The hotel’s location has extremely easy access (5 minute walk) to Manuel Antonio (beach and restaurants/shops), and to the gates of the National Park. The hotel is slightly set back from the road so it feels private. It has a small gift shop, pool, and nature trail. If you don’t want to leave the property for a meal, the tasty daily breakfast was more than enough to start our day and dinner/drinks/dessert at the resort’s restaurant or pool bar made for a few great evenings. Our room had a view of the forest, sounds of a small creek, birds, and frogs. We were graced with almost daily sightings of white face monkeys, toucans, butterflies, iguanas/lizards, and many other beautiful birds. Our 2nd floor covered patio table/chairs made for excellent viewing. Our room was clean and very comfortable. It was serviced daily by housekeeping and we couldn’t have asked for better care - muchas gracias! I would note, our room had a large 2-person spa tub with a hand shower. It took a few showers to adjust but is the only surprising feature of the room. I do believe the resort offers an accessible bathroom that can be used by any guest where the spa tub/shower might not suit.

On-site restaurant was nice and had very good complimentary breakfast buffet. Pool area and bar were clean and very nice. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent location - walkable to beach and Manuel Antonio.

Overall a great experience. Location to the beach and national park couldn’t be better. Room was nice and clean. Only complaint on room was utter lack of closet / storage space, even for one person. 2 people would be really tight. Pool area was lovely. Restaurant and bar was fantastic for breakfast and dinner. Friendly staff all over. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful lactation!! Easy walking distance to the park and restaurants. Can also walk to the public beach easily. Parking was available as well. Very nice place. Breakfast was also included and was wonderful.

Great free breakfast buffet and 1 minute walk to beach!
