Das Hotel liegt mitten in einem Wohngebiet, die Lage ist also sehr ruhig. Der (leider nahezu ausgestorbene) Ortskern ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Den Namen Berghof verdient es sich wegen der Aussicht auf das Tal und die hinter den Bergen untergehende Sonne.

Das Restaurant ist dauerhaft geschlossen, in der Bar gibt es Bier aus 0,33 Liter-Flaschen. Die 2 Zimmer für jeweils 2 Übernachtungen waren fünf Monate vor dem Termin gebucht worden, drei Tage vor Anreise hat der Betreiber in mehrfachen Telefonaten versucht, uns zum Stornieren der Übernachtungen zu überreden, da offenbar andere Gäste 4 statt nur 2 Übernachtungen bleiben wollten. Einem befreundeten Paar erging es da schlechter: denen wurde schlichtweg die Stornierung per Mail mitgeteilt.
