Rankeisou is a genuine Japanese Inn, a local gem for one unforgettable experience! Everything was perfect for our last night in Japan, from the greeting to the onsen and finishing with a multiple course dinner, my wife and I felt great! Thank you once again to our host that had the patience to sit with us and tell us more about the place and culture. We will definitely visit again.

Beautiful building in a beautiful location, extremely nice and helpful staff, and the food was excellent, too. The onsen were smaller than they had looked in the pictures, but it was a bliss to be in the outdoor onsen, surrounded by snow.

There was nothing really that I did not like.

Set in a beautiful lush area, the property comes with nice salty waters. In addition to outdoor / indoor public baths, two different private baths are available to book in 30-minute slots. The setting is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and nice, and meals from local ingredients are exquisite, served in a private dining room. You are also invited to post a letter to yourself to be delivered 12 years from now, a brilliant touch.
