BaraCoco Bungalows

Baracoco Bungalows is beautiful accommodation overlooking Bara Beach. The staff are amazing, present, helpful, friendly and professional. They are also fantastic cooks. The regular menu is excellent, but they also have delicious specials. They once made me fresh new boiled potatoes in garlic and parsley butter sauce, which was not what I was expecting in South East Asia and made a tasty change from rice (which I like, but I appreciated the diversity of cuisine here). They also made the best gado gado I had in Indonesia. The sea view ocean front bungalow I had was wonderful, affording beautiful views out over the cerulean-blue Flores Sea. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bungalow kept cool by fresh sea breezes and a fan. Air conditioning is not necessary at all, the temperatures are perfect. It's an exciting five to six hour drive from Makassar, the contrast between tradition and modernity, people travelling in horse drawn coaches next to massive wind farms generating renewable energy, is fascinating. This is the perfect place to escape winter, and I spent three weeks here, and a total of a month in Indonesia and Malaysia.

Nice bungalows and restaurant area

The beach is unfortunately full of rubbish. It would be nice if the hotel would take care of this issue at least in the area right in the front of the restaurant.

great position on the beach (just down a flight of steps). the bungalows are lovely with a big bathroom, balcony and really comfortable hammocks! the staff were all so lovely, helpful and kind.

Bungalow a bit dark, other restaurants a bit far. No room and rubish cleaning during 4 days.

Great and helpful staff. They will help you with everything you ask for, like: snorkelling trip, motorbike, driver, etc.
