NEW Bright and Sunny flat in Oxford City Centre

It was overpriced for the poor quality and numerous issues encountered: Security Deposit Concerns: After booking, I was required to pay a security deposit nearly equal to the total room rate. This payment had to be made via an external link outside of the Booking.com platform, leaving me with no assurance that the deposit would actually be returned. Waiting two weeks for a refund via an unverified third-party link is completely unacceptable and insecure. Water Heater Issues: The water heater could not be adjusted. During a heatwave, the water was scalding hot, making it impossible to take a shower. Lack of Cooling: During the same heatwave, there was no air conditioning or even an electric fan provided, making it nearly impossible to sleep. Noise Disturbance: The property is located within a student dormitory area. Despite strict rules against making noise, the restaurant and square outside were incredibly loud. One night, a group was drinking and shouting until 4:00 AM. It is hypocritical to enforce strict noise rules on guests when the environment is this noisy. No Elevator Access: The elevator was sealed off and unusable. We had to carry heavy luggage up to the third floor, and the host failed to inform us of this before arrival. Poor Facilities and Cleanliness: We were not allowed to use the washing machine. The room was not cleaned properly, with sand found on the floors and tables. The key collection point was over a 10-minute walk from the property, and the "double bed" in the bedroom was actually a flimsy, uncomfortable sofa bed. Unresponsive Host: When I contacted the host regarding these issues, the responses were slow and consisted entirely of robotic, canned messages. When I pressed further, the host claimed they were unaware the elevator was broken but made no effort to fix it or offer assistance. I believe this host is highly irresponsible. It seems they do not care about guests once the booking is made.

Ideally located for academic work at Oxford. Excellent kitchen facilities and wifi.

Keys are not stored in a lockbox on-site, but blocks away. The bed is far too small even for a single adult guest. Bedding is very basic. The adjacent courtyard is noisy at night. The landlord wasn't able to supply a proper invoice, even upon specific request. Not professionally managed.

I thought there was a problem with a bathroom faucet. I contacted the owner. The response was immediate and he solved every question I had. Well done.

Location

There was an issue with receiving the code , typically they will send you a code for check in , they will send you the code few days before you arrive. You will go into a supermarket, you give them the code and they give you the key . This is inconvenient because the too locations are across from each other and 15 minutes walking apart . Plus the fact that I was left in the street due to an issue they had for nearly 2 hours because the code didn’t work and the supermarket wont give me the keys !
