Kasaguadua - RESERVA NATURAL

il faut savoir que l'accès est difficile. impraticable avec des bagages lourds. les laisser en haut et ne prendre que ce qui tient dans un sac à dos

La vie au plus près de la jungle Les très bonnes conditions de vie dans les chambres bien que l’on soit assez éloigné de la toute principal. L’hôte est extrêmement accueillant et très sympathique. La grande cuisine permet de se préparer des repas le soir, pour ne pas avoir à remonter à salento de nuit, prévoir de se prendre de quoi cuisiner avant.

Il faut prévoir de voyager léger. Nous avions deux gros sacs de randonnée et un petit sac chacun. Le chemin est assez difficile avec les affaires notamment s’il pleut. Attention à la nuit également. Willy a été extrêmement gentil et nous a remonté une partie de nos sacs. Prévoyez de laisser quelques affaires à salento si vous pouvez ou demandez à Willy s’il est possible de les laisser dans le box au début du chemin. Également, le lit est un peu petit, il ne faut pas être trop grand/large.

Beautiful location

We loved kasaguadua, it’s a very unique accommodation! It was fascinating to learn about and see the work they put (and still do) into this amazing project. It’s very inspiring. You’re surrounded by nature and wake up with birds singing. William is super friendly and ready to help you with anything you need. He has an amazing energy and is an amazing cook! He cooked a delicious breakfast that we had together every morning, he really welcomes you into his home.

The only downside is having to walk up and down the path in the forest for 20 minutes every time you want to get somewhere and come back home. But it is also part of the experience of being surrounded by the peacefulness of nature, so it’s not really a negative point. Just be ready to hike with your backpacks the first time, and consider to arrive when there is still light to make it easier!

El concepto de bioturismo, el que esté en medio de la selva, la decoración, el despertar oyendo los pájaros, las rutas que se pueden hacer desde Kasaguadua, el poder cocinar con vistas a la selva… y sobre todo la hospitalidad de Willy. Siempre dispuesto a ayudar y a recomendar qué hacer y los mejores sitios a los que ir. Un lugar mágico dentro de un lugar aún más mágico 🤩

Estar tan poco tiempo.

You are really in the jungle, but also you have own pod with a comfy bed, hot water and comfy common spaces. Carlos is an amazing host, he'll explain everything to you about the lodge, but also will prepare really good breakfast. Just do groceries before checking in and relax being in the nature.

A really special place. Carlos is a wonderful host, generous with his time, easy to chat to and has lots of good recommendations for Salento and other parts of Colombia. It is very much in the middle of the jungle - it's a good 20-25 minute trek to get there - making it a unique experience you'll struggle to find anywhere else.

Great breakfast cooked with care (catered for vegans) and the kitchen has everything you need to make your own meals for lunch and dinner. Excellent chats with the fabulous owners, who are really inspiring. The design of the place is also super cool and regenerative - I felt I learned a lot just from being there and seeing how it all worked together. So many amazing plants and birds across the land, waking you up in the morning and accompanying throughout the day. And a bird watching book to help identify them all :) Beautiful location and super cool to be able to contribute to and be part of this sustainable tourism project. Awesome zazen meditation sessions too! One of the best and most memorable places I visited in my whole trip in Colombia. Very special indeed <3

It's a jungle, so of course the are many mosquitos. But the males help pollinate cacao and other important plants, and apparently it's only the pregnant females that sting you so they can use the iron in your blood to feed their unborn babies, so I feel less animosity towards them now. Just be careful of the other little buggers that live in the long grass - wear long clothes that cover the skin and don't sit down.

Carlos and Willy have created something very special, that goes beyond an accommodation. Kasaguadua is an experience, in which you are exposed to a lot of new knowledge about the nature and you are given a chance to become part of the system for a few days. I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn, experience and meet our hosts. The memory of this stay will be with me for years
