I arrived late at night, which I announced and was acknowledged the day before. It was no problem. When I arrived however nobody was there, or opened the door or answered the phone. Luckily some very friendly neighbours saw me sitting on my bag in front of the door and took me in their house. They arranged a stay for me at and drove me to the backpackers hostel in central Alajuela.

La famille qui nous accueille est très gentille. Les lieux sont propres et le lit est confortable. La cuisine est bien équipée et permet de cuisiner correctement. Se trouve a distance de marche d'une zone commerciale (courses / restaurants) Attention, si l'eau chaude est importante pour vous, sachez qu'elle n'est pas vraiment chaude ici, entre froide et tiède.

Nice place great location close to mall and restaurants and airport. NO hot water. Breakfast white bread with eggs banana juice and coffee
