Candlewood Suites Alexandria West by IHG

In all the hotels/motels I've stayed at in the past few years (and there's been alot between college tours, visits, trips etc), this hotel was the absolute best. The room was so clean I was able to walk around barefoot and not have to worry about my feet getting dirty. This has been the only place I was able to do that. All other places I had to wear slides. The room was the best room also, in regards to having a full kitchen with dishes, utencils, overall space, etc. I have never had a room like this before. My daughter and I wished we were staying for a week. Price was extremely reasonable and the staff was fantastic. I asked if we could have early check-in since we were there to attend my nephews Master's Degree graduation and it was the same day as we were checking in and the ceremony was 3pm which is the normal check in time. The lady at the desk was so understanding and said the room I booked (king size bed) was not available and If I would mind changing rooms so we could be accommodated. I wish all the places we stayed were this great. I will look for this name hotel in future travel. I would give them 10 STARS if I could

I did not like the room I booked with my sister , my sister was able to get the correct room along with another one of our friends . However at check in, I was advised that they did not have anymore and that It was based off of the space that they have which I do not understand if everybody after me was able to get the room they chose.

Clean, peaceful, loved the cooking area outdoors. Great management friendly really attentive to customers needs. I will stay there again.

I Like the fact that I was able to cook and use the Gym.

So what I dint like was the beggining of checking into my room. I realize the phone didn't nor did the ice maker. I went downstairs to complain and ask to be moved to another room but it was the same situation. Eventually I was placed on the first floor where the room was descent but still minor issues. Staff don't answer the phone, so I will have to make trips to front desk. No manager on site to speak with during issues this place is not supervised well. I was not impressed at all. Total waste and let down.
