Stayed here on our way back to Dublin from the west coast as my husband stayed here a lot on business in the 1990s. Upgraded to a lovely large room overlooking the rooftop patio. Only issue was the bath & shower! Bath very slippy and the mat provided wasn’t the usual rubber bath mat with suctions, but was held down by your feet. Didn’t feel safe as felt the mat could slip if you moved. Shower on wall didn’t work so used the shower head from the taps, which was secured up the corner and really difficult to stand under (while keeping feet on the mat). Also not easy to set temperature from the bath taps. Impressed by the sustainability policy and able to refill our water bottles with chilled water at the rehydration station near our room. Nice bar and had good food in the restaurant. Breakfast was in the canteen style cafe and wasn’t brilliant. Husband said it used to be freshly cooked in the restaurant but that was c30 years ago! Difficult to find their car park as it’s a narrow street - missed it going in and turned round but then couldn’t turn right - had to park in a pay & display and get directions from reception. If coming in fromJ17 off N4 drive down the main street and look for macdonalds on the left and turn there. Car park is last gate on right before church. If coming in the other way you need to drive through until you can turn round and come back. Good directions on booking would be helpful.
