The house is wonderful, full of history and character. The room with amazing duvets. Very friendly hostess and her Mum. The well behaved dogs. The whiskey Excellent breakfast in beautiful room. An extraordinary place.

The location was excellent and the hosts were very friendly, including the family dogs. Fabulous breakfast.

The house has such potential but needs extensive investment for this beautiful historic building.

We had a great stay at Thrumster House as part of our NC500 trip. Catherine was a wonderful host and so welcoming, and the house itself is beautiful and full of traditional country charm. Breakfast in the morning was a particular highlight, and we enjoyed the company of the friendly dogs. Overall, it was a memorable and unique place to stay and we’d definitely recommend it.

The WiFi seemed a little temperamental: this wasn’t a huge issue for us, but may be more of a challenge for those who need to be connected.

Je waant je in dit landhuis 100 jaar terug. Je moet ervan houden, het is best onderkomen en heeft wel een opknapbeurt nodig. Wij vonden het fantastisch en deze locatie is van onze Schotlandreis het meest bijgebleven. De rijke historie van de familie is voelbaar én tastbaar want er liggen nog fotoboeken/plakboeken die je als gast mag bekijken. Exemplaren die m.i. in een museum thuishoren. De honden van het huis zijn echt té schattig. De gastvrouwen (moeder en dochter) zijn erg vriendelijk en vertellen graag over de geschiedenis van het huis. We kregen een glaasje whisky bij het haardvuur. Ontbijt was heerlijk. Om de woning heen kun je mooi wandelen en er is zelf een 'eigen familiekerkhof'.

Het huis heeft echt een opknapbeurt nodig. De meubels in de ontbijtkamer ook. Maar wij vonden dit niet storend omdat het zijn charme heeft. Hou je hier niet van dan moet je er zeker niet heen gaan.

Purtroppo mi sono trovata molto a disagio a rimanere in questo posto. La struttura è si caratteristica e al primo impatto può sembrare emozionante dormire qui... ma si è rivelata decadente, sporca e letteralmente ferma nel tempo. Ha bisogno di lavori davvero importanti per essere, secondo me, proposta al pubblico. L'odore che si respira è molto forte e l'ambiente è un pò opprimente. Ho fatto davvero fatica a dormire qui. Sono dispiaciuta nello scrivere questo ma tornassi indietro è l'unica struttura del mio viaggio in cui non tornerei mai.
