Everything was perfect except the water pressure in the shower was weaker than I like but it did the job

I have been booking through Expedia for many years and booking this room off of Expedia has me rethinking. This place and my room was full of mold and filthy. The front desk staff was not friendly at all. When he gave me the room keys I went to my room and within thirty minutes as was back at the front desk with my eyes swelling up and a bit of a hard time breathing. I said to the staff that there was no way I could stay there do to my allergies with mold. I asked for a refund or partial and he laughed and said there will be no refund. I left crying and had to find another place to stay. I was so blessed to find a new place that was clean and safe to stay at. I am so disappointed at Expedia for even entering this motel. Someone needs to investigate this place because honestly I can’t believe they are even allowed to stay opened.

This was a great low cost place to stay right on the beach. No house keeping, which was fine by me as the price was great. Was very accommodating for extra blankets pillows etc. The only issue we had was the pool being in the middle of the place. Kids are jumping in and screaming by 9am,but it does close at 9pm. If you don’t mind that, this is a great place and we would come back.

This place has seriously gone done hill since we stayed here a few years ago. The bad dipped way in on both sides and was very uncomfortable. The room was dirty and the staff was rude and unwelcoming. A very disappointing stay.

The location was excellent and the staff was friendly. The hotel itself offers no amenities, ie., restaurant, maid service during stay. Also, although the rooms seem to have been updated, somewhat, the building is old and in need of repair. We had to leave a day early and weren’t offered any type of compensation.

The view and access to the beach was the best thing about the Sandalwood. The room was spacious and reasonably clean but lacked a lot in comfort. The bed was not comfortable and when you sat on the sofa it felt like there was no support. Did not pull out the sleeper but it looked pretty thin, typical for pull-outs. Floors appeared fairly new but if you walked barefoot, it felt like you were walking on sand residue. We were on the 3rd floor and as the a/c units are all on the roof, it was VERY loud. Had to wear ear plugs the 1st night. Also, pigeons/morning doves roost on the roof so you could hear them cooing. I thought the pool was cool located in the center with rooms surrounding it, however, that made ANY noise reverberate off the walls so it was very loud, especially when inconsiderate guests played their music loudly while they were playing in the pool. The covered patio was a nice place to get out of the sun. The price was reasonable, I guess, averaging $282/night. Will not stay there again.

Stayed many times it’s a get away.

Shower handle was extremely difficult to turn on and off.

I did not have high expectations knowing this was an older hotel, but you couldn’t beat the location. I was really pleasantly surprised! Room was very clean, cool, and comfortable. A little run down looking in a few places, shower we could never get the temperature right, but I would stay there again. That beach!!!
