The Utsunomiya Higashi Hotel is close to a train station and there are many shops/restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The room was typically small, but the net worked fine. Make sure to request parking, as nearby coin parking is expensive.

"higashi utsunomiya hotel"

Staff spoke little English but were very helpful. Room was good and clean. Only bad point was that wifi signal was weak and difficult to connect to on my floor. There was a desktop computer near reception which was usually available anyway. Hotel is also close to train train station and shops restaurants etc. I would stay there again.
